Wasted Apple, the Cornwall-based cider maker, has been awarded the Cider Trophy at the London Tasting Awards 2026 — the highest distinction in the cider category at this year's international blind tasting competition held on 22 April 2026 in Hackney, London.
A Trophy Earned Blind
At the London Tasting Awards, every product is assessed without any identifying information. No label. No producer name. No price point. No story.
Wasted Apple's cider was evaluated on a single basis: what was in the glass. Against entries from 30 countries and across all beverage categories, it stood out.
"Blind tasting. No labels. No prices. No shortcuts. Just what is in the glass."
This is what makes an LTA Trophy meaningful — not marketing, not reputation, but liquid quality validated by an international panel of professionals and consumers.
About Wasted Apple
Wasted Apple is a cider producer based at Fentenfenna Farm in Cornwall, UK. Founded on a simple but powerful idea — no good apple should go to waste — the brand collects fruit from traditional orchards across Cornwall that would otherwise go unpicked.
Every bottle is pressed, fermented, blended, and bottled on the farm. The result is a range of ciders that are as rooted in place as they are in principle: handcrafted, traceable, and built on the kind of integrity that shows up in a blind tasting.

The Cider Trophy: A New Category in 2026
The Cider Trophy is one of three new trophy categories introduced at the London Tasting Awards 2026, alongside Non-alcoholic and Ready-to-drink — reflecting the growing sophistication and commercial significance of these segments across the UK and European drinks market.
Wasted Apple is the first-ever recipient of the LTA Cider Trophy.
